Treatments You Can Trust accredited by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care
Independent quality mark for Injectable Cosmetic Treatments
Patients, service users and the public are able to choose a doctor, dentist or registered nurse practising injectable cosmetic treatments belonging to a register vetted and approved by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care, an independent statutory body, accountable to Parliament.
The Treatments You Can Trust register has been accredited under the Accredited Registers programme. Doctors, Dentists or Registered nurses on the Treatment You Can Trust register will be able to display the Accredited Register quality mark, a sign that they belong to a register which meets the Professional Standards Authority’s robust standards.
Sally Taber, Director, Treatments You Can Trust said:
“The quality mark will give extra peace of mind for anyone looking for a doctor, dentist or registered nurse, letting them know that anyone who holds the Quality Mark is committed to high standards. Treatments You Can Trust is pleased to offer the quality mark to doctors, dentists or registered nurses providing injectable cosmetic treatments that meet the far reaching standards of our register, as approved by the Professional Standards Authority.”
Harry Cayton, Chief Executive of the Professional Standards Authority said:
“We are very pleased to accredit the Treatments You Can Trust register of doctors, dentists and registered nurses. Bringing doctors, dentists and registered nurses providing injectable cosmetic treatments into a broad framework of assurance is good for patients, service users and the public and is the best way to promote quality. The programme offers enhanced consumer protection to anyone looking for health and social care services, and gives doctors, dentists and registered nurses providing injectable cosmetic treatments the opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to good practice.”
Accreditation does not imply that the Authority has assessed the merits of individuals on the register. This remains the responsibility of Treatments You Can Trust. It does not mean that the Authority has endorsed a particular treatment, people will need to consider the information provided and decide if it is suitable for them. Accreditation means that the Treatments You Can Trust register meets the Professional Standards Authority’s high standards in governance, standard-setting, education and training, management of the register, complaints handling and information.
Accredited registers encompass a growing range of occupations and organisations and the Professional Standards Authority may accredit more than one register in any particular occupation. Further information about Accredited Registers is available at www.professionalstandards.org.uk/accredited-registers.
Dr Paul Silvester is delighted to have become a certified injectable cosmetic provider on The Treatments You Can Trust (TYCT) Register.
TYCT has been verifying injectable cosmetic treatments quality since 2010. In conjunction with the professional regulators, appropriate regulatory agencies of the Department of Health, and industry representatives, IHAS produced in 2010 the Standards for Injectable Cosmetic Treatment, which have gained widespread acceptance. TYCT has gained the trust of patients, and met the needs of providers of cosmetic injectable treatments; it continues to be valued for its authority in improving standards of cosmetic interventions.
The Register is the gold standard for practitioners of injectable cosmetics.
